Meet Sen
Sen was born and raised in South Africa. From childhood, his exposure to the rich spiritual, occult and holistic scenes of his native city of Durban, which was a mixing pot of African, Indian and European cultures, germinated within him a seed for exploring the mystical and the esoteric, but also the literary, historical and philosophical constructs of social identity. In 2001 he joined an ashram in Cape Town and began practicing Bhakti Yoga.
In 2003 he moved to Melbourne, Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Arts (Religious History) and Postgraduate Certificate in Education (English and History), before beginning his career as a Secondary School educator. It was in the holistic precincts of Melbourne that Sen was introduced to the study and practice of Tarot as a symbolic language for analysis, interpretation and composition.
Fascinated by the interplay between language, literacy and literary theory on one hand and identity, agency and meaning on the other, within the context of teaching and learning, Sen went on to complete a Master's degree in Teaching, with a research focus on the relationship between narrative language and historical empathy. He helped develop teaching and learning programs as a Departmental Head of English and as an Applied Learning Leader in secondary schools in Victoria, Australia.
In 2020, he transitioned from being an educator to an education consultant in language and literacy, a holistic narrative life coach, and a professional Tarot reader. In 2021, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Classics and Ancient History, focusing on the practices of ancient religion, ritual, and mysticism in Pagan and Judeo-Christian cultures within the Greco-Roman world.
Apart from consulting and running workshops in Tarot and narrative life coaching, Sen enjoys dedicating time to his own spiritual study and practice, community service, and travelling to places of spiritual significance, gratefully absorbing the potency of the mystical and the divine.
